Genetics - does law of segration contribute to the genetic variability?

Does law of segreation (Mendel's 1st law) contribute to the genetic variability like how independent assortment and genetic recombinations do during meiosis? I've seen from couple of sources that mention the last two as the source of variability, but haven't seen any that metions the first law in this context. Thanks in advance!
 
If there were no segregation, there would be no fertilization. Hence, yes it contributes.
 
In the sense of the other two things you mentioned, it does not.
However, variation in one gene phenotype does come from homozygousness, heterozygousness, etc.
