Hey guys i have a to those of you who have taken the DAT.

I was going over Mendelian genetics and in my bio book im required to know which traits are dominant and recessive for the pea plant and the drosophila. Will i need to know this for the DAT. I know how they denote dominant(D) and recessive(d) lol im just curious if its required that i know them for those two specific examples/ Thanks

I think questions usually tell you which one is dominant and which one is recessive. I don't think you need to memorize which one is dominant.

But I found out that there is a tendency that darker color or bigger size are dominant in most questions I had.

Well after reading the chapter on them i practically know them but im very sure that come test time i would have forgotten at least one and if i get a question on it that does not specify ill be PISSED lol. but i hope i dont need to remember them.

on your DAT it will def. be specified which one is dominant and which one is recessive. Also, know that sometimes they refer to the dominant allele with a + sign. e.x. p+p+ (homo. dominant), pp (homo. recessive), or p+p (hetero.) that's how it showed on mine!
