how much time should I spend on it (and what source did you use)?

I have already spent more time than I wanted to on metabolism + mol.bio, so don't want to end up wasting too much time on this.

I used the Kaplan lectures notes for this. I felt it gave me a very solid review. This book has bio chem, mol bio, and genetics together. There is a lot of overlap between Genetics and Mol bio.

Many of the genetics topics are found in the genetics disorders section of BRS Path. Other than that, I'd know basic mendelian calculations, Hardy-weinberg, how meisosis and cross over works, and how things like robertsonian translations work. Not sure what review text covers these, sorry :(
