So I have a dilemma with ranking these 4 programs (and have paired them together) was wondering if any of you could help me out.

Indianapolis University
Case Western University

Georgetown University
University of Illinois Chicago

I really loved IU and Case western but I dont really care for the cities of Indianapolis and Cleveland. I didn't dislike UIC or Gtown but they didnt click with me the way the other two places did. That being said though, I love the cities of Chicago and DC. How would you go about ranking these in my situation. I am a young single male in his mid 20s who enjoys city living but also wants to go to a strong program, I don't mind the cost differences between the cities and would be willing to spend more.

Most will tell you to rank based on location (which is a huge factor in a 4-6 year residency decision) unless there's a significant drop-off in program prestige (i.e UMich vs. community program in NYC). Gtown and UIC are both great programs in awesome cities. Indianapolis is great for families. I live in Cleveland now and it has a better scene than most outsiders think. That being said, it can't compare to the metro areas of DC and Chicago.

Indy and Cleveland are not complete dead zones for single dudes. Yes, they are no Chicago or DC, but it's not that bad. I would go with IU or CWRU over Georgetown/UIC. I think the difference in education and connections is significant enough. But you may feel differently. Go with your gut. Think about which programs' residents you feel you would click more with.

IU is probably the strongest program on that list, but (for me) it's not worth the trade-off of living in Indy. You're not at the hospital as much as other specialties, choice of city is very important.
