I heard that geometry was no longer on the PCAT. Firstly, is that true? Second, does that include trigonometry?

Also if this is true does this mean we do not need to memorize the surface area/volume/diamter of a sphere/cylinder/other shapes etc?

Geometry is not on the PCAT.

Trigonometry is on the PCAT. Derivatives and Integrals of trig functions are fair game. (I had a trig integral on my version of the PCAT.)

Ok thanks. So you don't have to memorize the formulas for volume, etc? I'm a bit releived if not cuz I was never great at geometry and all those formulas hah. Much rather do calculus than that

I could have sworn there were some volume problems, but I could be wrong...

^When did you take the PCAT?..I did some reading and they didn't take geometry off until 2007 (I think)

And of course they still ask volume questions in the chemistry section but I wasn't sure if they would ask the volume of a sphere/cylinder/etc

The content breakdown is as follows: basic math (15%); algebra (20%);
probability and statistics (20%); precalculus (22%); and calculus (22%).

Personally, I remember having a very odd related rates problem involving a bicycle rotating at a certain speed where you had to know the area of a circle, etc.

Volume could technically fit into the aforementioned breakdowns, but the deal is ... If someone on here says that something won't be on the exam, it's merely hearsay. Therefore, when it doubt, know everything. The above breakdown doesn't say 'There is no geometry on the exam,' however, there isn't a specific percentile of geometry questions on the PCAT.

Long story short ... When in doubt, know everything.
