anybody know the scoop on the gw program? good/bad/indifferent? i am aware that they are strong in the international and disaster medicine scene. i'm curious to know how residents feel about their training there and whether it is a place with an academic or community bent. any info is appreciated!

I matched there as well. I also work with a few of their program grads at a community ED. Your right about the international and disaster strengths. Being in DC they are strong in HC policy as well. My impression from everything I saw and what I know of their grads going there will stand you well to go into academics or community practice. One of the reasons I ranked it highly is because I haven't decided which I wanna do yet. 🙂

I almost didnt even apply to the world famous In n out residency cause I heard he was gonna rank it #1. I knew I couldnt hang with him, luckily he didnt want the bright lights associated with In n out.. Everyone in DC will be better off.

thanks for the reply....i'm currently in the mode of trying to figure out where i want to apply and where to do an away....anybody have feelings about the different hospitals you train at at gw? trauma exposure?

If only I knew I was going to end up there when I ranked it. I would have definately avoided that place. Lord knows I don't wanna work with someone like me. 😛
