I have and interview on Feb 5th at George Washington however my verbal score is 450 and their ptcas guidelines say 500 in the min. Has anyone gone to an interview there and if so is there any information you would be willing to share? Also, has anyone already been accepted there?

Thank you for your time and advice

I have no experience with the GW application process; however, if they invited you for an interview knowing that your verbal is 50 points below their advertised minimum cut-off then I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it. You obviously impressed them somewhere else in your application-- focus on that in your interview. Good luck to you!

Shellabie,

Thanks I really appreciate it. Hope the process is going well for you, best of luck.

Hi B, I went to the Jan 7th interview and can give you some insight. The whole day is pretty relaxed. So don't sweat it. At the end of the day, they give you an opportunity to meet a faculty member one on one to have an informal chat. They do have your application to refer to and they do, so this is when you should be prepared to discuss your GRE score. I agree with the previous poster though. If you have made it to the interview they are obviously willing give you a chance, with or without the stipulation to take the GRE over again. Hope this helps, good luck!

Hey several of my friends were emailed about whether or not they planned to retake the GRE.. If they offered you an interview without questioning your scores they like your whole package.. I got an interview at every school I applied to that offered them over some of my friends who have higher "stats" .. Just believe in what you bring to the process!!!!

Thanks for the info guys. Do you have any idea how many people they invite to these interviews?

Hi Almost,

Sounds like your interview went well 👍! What did you think about the program? Would you go there if you were accepted?

Ok so I just received the interview invite for Feb 5th..problem is that I am going to be in DC the weekend prior interviewing at marymount and (as I live in Seattle), I cant really afford to come again the following weekend. I know that the interview is optional but based on those that have attended the interview..do you have any guess as to how important it is to attend? I am wondering if it will hurt my chances of admission if I dont go. Also, this is the most expensive school I applied to so I would only be going there if I didnt get in anywhere else..but of course that is entirely possible..and if I screw my chances here by not going then I will be very mad at myself. Im confused. Any advice would be highly appreciated! I have to rsvp within 2 days..Thanks!!

Ashley-this is hearsay, but I've heard the interview invitation at GW is practically a formality before acceptance if you attend.

However, I think if they would offer a phone interview, they could almost access you in the same way. I honestly didn't feel like their interview process would lose much via telephone. However, you wouldn't get as much access to them with that method, so there's a trade-off.

RBNiu- I liked the program and will probably except pending the next few interviews.

BRooney-My interview had around 50 people. Expect a crowd. No worries though, they seem to attract a nice bunch. It's real laid back and low stress.

Is anyone planning on attending GW in the fall?

DPTB - I will be attending GW in the Fall

Awesome! I'll be there too. Do you have any idea about what our next steps are? Maryland sent me package, but I haven't received anything from GW yet.

I'll be going to GW in the fall also. They said we will start to receive info late spring.

fgilber - Great. Thanks for the Info.
