Georgetown site is really lacking info on their programs and student initiatives on community service - which I believe is in the center of their mission statement. I am writing my secondary and am having trouble finding infos about Georgetown. I can't find cohesive examples of their community service initiatives and how they prepare their students for the challenges of serving the underserved. Someone help!!

start here... you can do more in-depth searches of individual opps once you find something interesting

Might want to merge this thread with the G'town secondary thread.

Thanks FuSoYa. Does anyone also know the amount of clinical exposure in Georgetown? Is it just me or the website doesn't have a whole lot of info?

on the left side, click on "Current 4-year Curriculum" and you can see... well, the current 4-year curriculum. Looks like clinical exposure starts in year #3. The same column on the left underneath "Curriculum" has links to the 1st and 2nd year classes, each linking to a full description of the course. You can also see the list of departments where electives can be done. Happy Trails.

Looks like Georgetown doesn't have clinical exposure in preclinical years? That's not what I expected...

care to elaborate? Where did you find these info?

I think I read on their site they have clinical classes, like ambulatory care, physical diagnosis, etc for the first years? I can't remember exactly where I read it.

The MSAR says that there is "clinically oriented educational experiences" and "early introduction to patients" in the first two years. More comprehensive clinical training starts in the third year.

If you don't have an MSAR, most public libraries carry a copy.

btw, as posted earlier, if you ask these questions in the Georgetown Secondary thread, you'd probably get more responses.

Just did. Thank you FuSoYa and BlueElmo.
