You'll get the education you need at either school. It may be better if we knew what sorts of things you're looking for in a school, so we can help you figure out which school is the best fit.

Georgetown, of course.

Yes, because Georgetown is a far more recognizable name than Drexel (they went to the final four in 2007 OMG!) and as well all know, this is probably the most important factor that goes into chosing a medical school. If it's not, it should be in the top 3.

OP you need to explain what your preferences are i.e. location, style of learning (Drexel offers problem based, don't know about Georgetown) and cost. That's just off the top of my head.

Oh and Georgetown's med school seems to generate a lot of interest for orthopaedics.

Well heres what i know so far... im interested in Surgury or EM ... costs right now are pretty much the same give or take 2K... location makes no difference to me, didnt get a bad feel for either and im from NY... as far as teaching style i prefer lecture based and both provide this as well ...

If you had to choose based on quality of school, reputation ( rank, match, overall program, etc.) where would you go ? If you have specifics please note

clearly Georgetown's name is much more recognizable and it has a better reputation, if not being a better school in general. That said, other factors I'd consider are student's happiness, whether or not the atmosphere is competitive, and living expense. Georgetown's in a really expensive area of DC and you'd probably pay over a 1,000 a month in rent. That said though, it's in a really fabulous area of DC too. Drexel's in Philly, also expensive, but not as expensive. Idk what area of Philly Drexel is in, but read the Drexel vs Morehouse thread down below, Philly is dangerous. As is DC, but I know Georgetown is not in the hood, idk where Drexel is located.

I'd only pick Drexel over Georgetown if for some reason you thought you'd be much happier at Drexel, like if you didn't like the vibe at Georgetown, didn't think the teachers cared, students seemed hostile, or something. And Drexel seemed like a much better environment. That said some ppl would grin and bare Georgetown for the name but it's the next 4 years of your life...idk whether you think that's a long time or not.

Drexel's med school is in the suburban East Falls neighborhood which is a relatively safer place in Philadelphia.

This is probably a situation where you just have to go with your gut. You'll get more mileage out of Georgetown's name but you won't be limited in what you want to do at either school. If you would be happier at Drexel, go there. If you would be happier at GTown or would tolerate it for the sake of saying "I went to Georgetown Med" for the rest of your life then go there.
