Hi,

Asking anyone who did the Georgetown SMP program. Do you know what the cutoff was for receiving an interview after block 3?
I've heard from many people that it was a 3.4 as in if you had higher than a 3.4 after block 3, then you would get an interview but not sure how true that is?

Hey I just applied to the smp. Do you know how long it takes them to get back to you?

I submitted my application on 3/13 but my last recommendation wasn't uploaded until 3/30. I got the "complete" email on 4/13 and was accepted yesterday. So it takes about 4-5 days to complete your file and then you should get a response within 2-3 weeks.

Congrats on your acceptance!! Would you mind sharing your stats?

Hi all, I got accepted to the 3 masters programs that I applied to: Duke MBS, Georgetown SMP, and Johns Hopkins HSI. I was wondering which school would be best for my situation: I will be applying to medical schools this current cycle (right before I start masters) so that I could hopefully matriculate to medical school right after finishing masters. I wanted to know which school has the best advising for secondaries/interviews and which school has the best chance I get into its own medical school or a medical school in general?

I know that Georgetown holds off applications and puts SMPs in a specific pool for its SOM review while Johns Hopkins and Duke don't. I also know that Georgetown is the only one out of the 3 that encourages students to apply to medical school before starting masters (instead of having to take another gap year after masters). Now the cons to Georgetown is how hard it is and that they accept 150-200 students instead of having a cohort of maximum 50 students.

Please let me know if you know anything about the 3 schools mentioned and that could help me make my decision, thanks!

Thank you! Sure, my application got marked complete on April 20 & I heard back April 23rd but the official letter was sent on April 24. cGPA 3.49 with an upward trend & sent 3 practice scores ~83% range. Lots of ECs and strong LORs. Good luck!!

I was planning on applying 2021-2022 cycle. Is Georgetown still the better choice, I keep reading about low GPA's that concerns me during my application cycle. The whole purpose of going to Georgetown SMP was to repair my undergraduate GPA and prove that I can be successful in medical school.

Hi, have you chosen a school? I'm deciding between Tufts, BU and Georgetown too.
