Hey all,

I got the Georgetown secondary email this morning and reading through the directions it says i need to send them official transcripts for study abroad not verified through AMCAS?

I thought the reason AMCAS gave us a break on transcripts from abroad is because it would be freakin' hard to obtain transcripts from those institutions and even with them, the grading system and courses would be so crazy as to not make it meaningful for adcoms anyways?

I took classes an a foreign institution that basically didn't have transcripts. In order to get credit at my American undergrad I had my mentor/professor write a letter to my undergrad explaining what courses I took, that I did well, and signing his name. That was it. And I don't really want to have to ask him for another, since it was a wierd, out of the ordinary thing for him.

What should I do? Just not bother applying to Georgetown? Do they really care?

I would be perfectly happy to ask for another letter to be sent to the school I end up matriculating at, but I don't want to have to bug him for these letters to schools that I'm probably not gonna get into anyways.

Anyone have any experience with this? Advice?
