i had a question studying the other day on the mesoderm and ectoderm. the skin is part of the ectoderm, along with nervous system etc., but what about the dermis? says mesoderm, i believe it just thought that it was skin. does anyone agree that its mesoderm or ectoderm?

The statement is correct. Human skin can be divided into three parts; (epidermis; outer most, dermis; middle, and hypodermis; inner most) Well, the dermis can be subdivided into two other layers (which I do not recall...). hope this helps! =D

I took a TopScore practice test and it said that the kidney, heart, muscles, and dermis of skin arise from mesoderm.
