So ok I now have 6 interviews...which is great...and I will go to my first mid november and I have yet to schedule 2 of them. So my question is should I be going to all of them as I have no guarantee of being in any med school yet or should I go to the ones that I am more interested in...

Schools I have received an interview invite from....
Arizona College of Mid. University (DO)
Chicago College of Mid. University (DO)
Des Moines University (DO)
Edward Via Virgina College (DO)
Lake Erie College - Erie (DO)
Touro University - Harlem (DO)

So any suggesstions about what I should do??????

Do you have flexible dates for all of them?

I'd try to attend them in the order of greatest to least importance to you. This might take some time to do the research to figure it out, but at least it could save you some travel expenses and deposits, if you get a relatively quick acceptance to one of your top choices.

well definitely want to attend CCOM and DMU...so those are already setup.

and would also like to attend LECOM, and VCOM

...so the next two I have are TouroCom-NY and AZCOM...I think I'm going to wait to schedule these two...If I get an interview from Western, maybe I can pair it with AZCOM but I'm not sure if I should go to it if somehow I get an acceptance to CCOM. I'm also not sure about TouroCom. If anyone has any opinions about AZCOM and TouroCom, please let me know because I am all ears.

Why would you skip AZCOM after a CCOM acceptance? Because you feel you'd definitely choose CCOM over AZCOM, at this point? Or some other reason?

i was in your position last year and i would definitely go to as many of them as possible. being able to compare x school to y and z schools in paper AND in person is a huge advantage, and remember, you should be interviewing the schools just as much as they are interviewing you. when you do decide, you want to be sure that you did what you could to pick the right place to spend the next 4-8 years.

with that being said, i would not interview at schools you absolutely CAN NOT see yourself going to, especially later in the cycle, as you may potentially prevent other applicants from having an opportunity, especially towards the end of the cycle. this goes under the 'karma' section of the application process.

good luck!

Only real reason I'm from the east coast, but AZCOM does sounded nice when I was picking which schools to apply to.

I am pretty much in the same situation. I have received 9 interviews so far, 7 from DO schools. Here's what I did to minimize the cost, out of all the interviews I received I figured which schools I really wanted to attend. I scheduled those first. I was accepted to Nova in September and decided to cancel all my DO other than CCOM and LECOM. I am from Chicago so CCOM is my first choice, while cost was the factor in interviewing at LECOM. Also, I decided to ditch DMU and KCUMB because I did not want to take biochem and genetics, and didn't interview at WVSOM because of out of state tuition. I guess I was blessed with an early acceptance to a solid school which saved me a bunch of money. Try and schedule those interviews first where you really want to go, and schedule safeties for the last.

I have 12 interview invites as of right now, 10 DO's. They just started to flow in one after another over the past month, so I've been very thankful and happy but also stressed cuz I only have so many PTO days left at work and my boss doesn't like when I take off around busy time of year. Luckily, I interviewed at my first choice DO school CCOM first, then scheduled all the others as they followed, timing them to fall after CCOM's expected decision delivery date. I just crossed my fingers that CCOM would work out for it and in the meanwhile, tried to schedule interviews close together. I went to my ATSU-KCOM interview because I still had not received a decision from CCOM, then crossed my fingers some more that CCOM would accept me. I got into CCOM last Friday so I canceled all the rest of my DO interviews, save Touro-NYC, Touro-San Fran, and Western, because I can envision myself living in those locations. I'm going to my two MD interviews and if I get into one of those, I'll cancel the rest of my DO interviews and then finally choose between MD or DO (CCOM). I actually sat down and drew out a map and updated that map with each new invite. It's a great blessing to have so many interviews so definitely be proud! Logistics is the easy part... go to whichever schools you are curious about. This is a fortunate inconvenience! Good luck!

another tricky thing is timing these things with deadlines to respond to acceptances. (I have 2 interviews in november I hope I hear back from before I have to turn in my LECOM desposit-$1500!!!) I don't want to eat that money if things go another way..I realize it isn't much to lose if you get into ur number one choice, but still slightly bone chilling..
-don't get me wrong, I'd still be happy going to LECOM

Yea is this with all schools $1000+ deposits...that is too much! I dont know md process works this way...its only like 100. This process is way to expensive. Everytime I see my bill every month I start freaking out.
