Hi everyone,
I got a D in a non prereq class last year. Its was a medical nutrition therapy class and was def. geared towards dieticians. I mainly took this class was because it was for my major( I retook a different class once I got that D and got an A). One of the things I thought was that I could choose this class in order to see what being a dietician would be like since I am a nutrition major. I wanted to see if I would enjoy it in case dental school absolutely did not work. Also, so I could pay off my loans too.
However, it backfired on me BIG time. The class was ridiculously difficult and I went to go see my prof about it and she wasn't as helpful (for example...the week before the final, she told me that I would be okay if I just studied the old exams in her office. After I went the first day, she emailed the class saying we could no longer look at the exams. No idea why...) At one point, when my prof asked me why I chose this answer and after I told her why, she said "You're thinking way too much like a doctor." It was discouraging yet encouraging at the same time... sighs. I hate to make an excuse but I just had a hard time relating to it. However, I do not blame anyone and it was ultimately, my fault.
Do y'all think adcoms would ask me about this? I've never gotten below a C on a prereq and this was my only D for a NON-PREREQ class since ever.
Thank you
