so I’m pretty sure I just got a D in bio II. It’s a huge bummer and it had to do with personal stuff that made focusing on school difficult but it is what it is. My questions:
1. Should I retake in the spring?
2. How does this affect my chances of getting into med school (honestly speaking)?
3. What other bios/science courses can I take to make up for this mistake?

1. You will need to retake to general chemistry II, as a C are higher is required for pretty much all health professional programs. But don't take it until you've sorted out your personal issues are a confident you can do well.
2. If the rest of your application is strong, one D during, presumably, your freshman year, won't make much of a difference. Perhaps an interviewer will bring it up. Calmly explain that you were going through personal issues at the time, learned from the experience, and did well in future when retaking it and in other science classes.
3. I'm sure your school offers plenty of science classes that you can take. Take science electives that you're interested in and, most importantly, believe you will do well in.
Good luck!

1) yes
2) way too early to tell.
