This is probably going to sound like a really random question, but I would really like to get a Masters after MS4. If I do so, would it hurt my chances at residency since I would be taking multiple years off in between?

The reason why I'm asking this is that I want to already do a joint MD/Something Else*, and I couldn't find info on the sites of a lot of med schools about obtaining more than 2 degrees.

My goal is to eventually work in translational research and develop products, and eventually transition into industry from academia.

*I don't want to say what else I want to get a degree in since that may give away my identity.

My understanding is you'd be listed as an independent applicant on ERAS, which hurts quite a bit. Do a gap between 2nd/3rd or 3rd/4th
