I've read an osteopathic med school personal statement sample in which the applicant wrote that he/she plans on getting a treatment from a DO to get a patient's perspective, which I've also thought about. Do you think that would be something good to talk about in an interview?

It would be a good and helpful only if it actually helped you with your views on osteopathic medicine. I wouldn't just book an appt with a DO and have them do OMT on you if there's nothing wrong with you.

Nah dude, don't do it. We all just pretend DO is equal because we have bad grades, but don't get quack care.

Not serious.

Obviously having the perspective of a patient is important, but only do it if you have a real ailment.

The school(s) you are applying to probably has a clinic. I bet you could shadow one of them for the day. Might be a better way to gain exposure to the school as well as osteopathic medicine.
