Well, I got back from a disastrous interview Friday to learn the exciting news that I get a shot to prove to UPenn why I don't belong there...

But the scheduling people gave no info whatsoever about what to do for accomadations...is anybody here familiar with UPenn/Philly? Does anybody have an recommendations for me? All help is greatly appreciated...

I live in Philly and can help you as you need it. It is an easy place to get around in. If you fly here you can take the train for $5.50 to Penn. Let me know where you are staying and what you need, and I'll help you out.

Just PM me. Also, where was the disasterous interview at?

best of luck

Getting around philly...hmmm...as soon as you get from the airport they have shuttle services that can take you to the campus. I usually ended up taking Lady Liberty...it costs 8 bucks one way. Its heck of a lot more convenient than using Septa (subway)

But you can use the subway to get around the city. okay hope this helps a little.

you can stay at the Sheraton at 36th and Chestnut or try the Inn at Penn. Both might be a bit pricy. There is also a hotel right across from the Sheraton that I know nothing about but if you can find the name of it give them a call. They're at 36th and Chestnut too on the other side of the Sheraton. You could also try to find a cheap hotel in center city and then just take the westbound subway to 34th street and walk south from there. It would take fewer than 10 minutes to get to 34th. The walk'll be a bit to the med school though. There are always cabs too. PM me with more specific questions if you have them. I live at Penn.

You could always stay at the airport and take the airport train to University City ($5.50 and 10 minute ride). The med school is a less than 10 minute walk from the train station.

Center City is a 10 minute train ride from Univ. City too and most of the time you don't get charged for the ride. 🙂 IMO, cabs are a big rip-off, and parking at Penn is like a million bucks an hour (OK, maybe not a million, but still ridiculous....).
