To all those who are married or who have parents that work at the same university that they attend dental school at:

Were/are you elegible for free or discounted tuition for your dental schooling? If so, how much of a discount did you receive?

Is there a general pattern regarding amount of discount regarding public dental schools vs. private dental schools?

They reason I ask is that currently my wife works for a university that does not have a dental school 👎 She is considering a change of jobs - would it be of great financial benefit if my wife worked for the same university that I will attend dental school at?

Many thanks & feel free to p.m. me

I think tuition incentives are for undergraduate majors not for graduate. This is how it is at USC (southern cal). you might want to chek with other schools.

Thanks

I would agree with balance. My wife works as a professor for the University of Nebraska system and the benefits do not extend to the College of Dentistry. We just moved here from Texas where the same applied to the UT system (San Antonio and Houston).

Many states will allow you to be a resident for tuition purposes if you make a move across state lines.

No. It applies for grad students as well at USC. Instead it only applies for 2 years instead of 4. If your parents work you get free tuition. If your spose works you get half tuition.
