Getting into lecom-b? any tips

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Have you gone to the school and talked with someone in admission in person? Have you gone to the LECOM open house? Have you made yourself known there without being a pest? Need to take the MCAT. Never know until you apply

Thankyou for your advice! That has deffinatly been in the back of my mind! I wont apply till either next june or the following depending on my mcat, so I still have a ways to go.

Hit a 27 and you're fine. Shadow a DO and get a letter from him/her. Are your 500+ hours clinical volunteering?

Be active during the group interview. Don't be shy....But also DONT be that guy that completely takes over and won't let anyone else talk. Answer the questions while making eye contact, and don't ramble or go off into tangents.

I wouldn't mention it if you weren't asking for advice, but work on your spelling. Months not monthes, definitely not deffinatly. I know that people don't spell check forum posts, but the way you communicate in text impacts how people see you, when text is all they have to go on. You will make a better impression if you can spell common words.

Definitely go by and start a dialogue with them. I agree that if you do reasonably well on the MCAT you shouldn't have a problem. They'll love your experience. Agreed about talking up PBL. You're a self-directed learner, right? It's best if you can talk about a PBL class you took. Be knowledgable about the different styles of PBL: guided vs unguided, etc. LECOM-B is mainly unguided (although you have a "facilitator" to keep you from getting too off track). It does work. Good luck!
