I'm completing my fourth year of medical school and am hoping to get into an Anesthesiology Residency. I'm an HPSP student with the Air Force, and they're making my life an absolute hell right now. I was selected to recieve one year of post graduate education, so I'm currently trying to get into a Transitional Year or Medicine/Surgery Prelim year. Hopefully the military will defer me to train in Anesthesia next year, so if so, then how would I go about getting into an Anesthesia position? Would I have to reapply with the NRMP and have to repeat my intern year? Or could I seek out programs that would allow me to enter as a CA-1? And how would I do that? Thanks for any suggestions.
