Hello all,

I've been accepted to start medical school this coming fall, but currently I am completely unsure which specialty to pursue. My questions:

1) Is it possible to get involved in research that can be applied to many specialties?

2) Is the BEST time to begin research the summer after 1st yr?

3) Is it common to continue said research all the way until you apply to residency (so a total of about 2 yrs of research)?

Thanks for the help.

Does working on writing bioethics papers on select topics count as research? I will be doing reviews of literature and all that stuff so maybe.. its just not traditional i figure
