getting job as Pharmacy tech?

i figure getting a job as a Pharmacy Tech would be the best way for me to determine weather Pharmacy is actually for me, my question is that how do I actually get a job with no previous Pharmacy experience, I know some people actually go to school for this so they actually would have an advantage over me, I recently filled out an online application to walgreens, I'm thinking I've should have actually just went up there and described my attentions. but yeah basically I just want to know, how did some of you guys get a job as a Pharmacy Tech during undergrad?

There are so many threads about this. Your best bet is to go to the pharmacy when its not too busy and ask to speak to the pharmacist, introduce yourself, have a chat and give him/her your resume before you leave. I've found that filling out the online application usually isn't enough. Good luck and try searching the forum for more info. 😎

I agree with this person above me. you also might want to get certified and then apply to other places, because walgreens is the only pharmacy i know that will actually train you and pay for your cert and licensure too, other places won't and require you to be certified before you get hired.
If walgreens doesn't work out, i would go to the cptb.org and register to take the test. IF you pass your a cert. pharm tech. if you don't pass then you could try again the next testing cycle.
