I am in a bit of dilemma. Starting in August I will be attending PT school, and all I hear about is how intense and time consuming the first year is. Well, my boyfriend proposed about a month ago, and my plan was to have a super long engagement and wait until either the end of my second year or even third year to get married. However, I am so anxious to get married and start planning that I don't really want to wait anymore. Would I be insane to get married after the spring semester of my first year? I know I could get a lot of planning done this spring and summer, but there will always be things to plan and organize during school. Any suggestions?

A 2nd year student at My school got married in the summer during the first clinical rotation. One of my classmates just got engaged and she is waiting until after we graduate. It all depends on the type of person you are and how well you handle juggling a lot of things. After going thru my first semester if my boyfriend proposes we won't be grtting hitched until I graduate bc I would personally be way too overwhelmed with school and a wedding. I'm stressed out about being in two weddings this coming year! But it's definitely how you are as a person and how much you can handle at ice; people get married, have babies, renovate houses, etc all while vein in school.

I got married during our one week break at the end of my first year. It was a relatively small and simple wedding (80 guests, no bridal party, no assigned seats for dinner, you get the idea?). For me, it was a little stressful, but the reality is, even during PT school you have a life. If you are planning a wedding, you just do that in your free time, instead of other things that you would be doing! It also depends in how intense you really need to get with your planning. I know that things can get crazy with planning a wedding that is more traditional, and I don't think I would have handled that very well (it wasn't what I wanted anyway).
Also, one of my classmates is getting married this summer (end of 2nd year)!

Thank you guys so much! I think most of my uncertainty comes from not knowing exactly how intense that first year will be. If I get the main, stressful planning out of the way this summer, I feel as though figuring out the "details" will almost be stress relief for me. We have already been together for 4 years, I can't imagine waiting 3 more to get married!
