For those that get paid on a percentage of collections, how do you ensure accuracy? Just take the check and trust the employer, or ask for a breakdown by patient? Random audit?

Depends on the employer. I work for a very large multi speciality group. I tend to trust them. A podiatrist...not so much.
Also, my group posts collections of all doctors weekly, there is a lot of transparency there and all hell would break loose so I am sure there is no funny business.

Our EHR tracks it. I can look up # of claims submitted, amount billed, and $ collected for anyone in the group. It separates cash payments from patients and payments from insurance companies as well.
Regardless of practice type, I would think that information or those reports would be provided by whatever company is doing the billing/processing claims and collections. So as long as you don’t work for a podiatrist with in house billing...
