Hey future dentists,

I just got a letter for an interview and it is two weeks from now. Yiiikes!! Do you have any advices about preparing for it? Also, I'm having a hard time trying to find what to wear.

THanks.

Read up on the school, in general terms, prior to the interview. This can easily be done through materials they send you, or through their school website.

Know the strengths of the school so you can comment on them throughout the interview. Know the weaknesses so you can ask your interviewer(s) further questions in that area.

Good luck, it is lots of fun!

Thanks for your advice GavinC.

I got a letter from UT San Antonio, Texas. Does anybody have any comments about that school or any of the other 2 schools in Texas? (Baylor college and UT Houston)

Across the board, interview attire is the same as for a job candidacy--formal and conservative. For the men out there, that means a dark suit (no pinstripes), conservative tie, closely shaved, smelling good, and shoes shined.

For the ladies, the rules are a little more bendy, but "formal and conservative" is still the mantra. Dark skirt/slacks/suit, modest monochrome blouse, heels, and limited, tasteful jewelry. I think. (I'm not as well-versed in women's dress, obviously 😛 )

Any other ideas?

Hey there Kphan

where are you from and what school did you attend or attending undergrad. UH 🙂 or Rice, etc

What are your stats. I am fellow texas applicant as well.

I would also like to add that if you have any additional time, you may want to schedule a "mock" interview if your school offers it. I know in my undergrad years I did a few of these mock interviews and I found them very helpful, especially since I had interviews soon after.
