Hi guys, I have a dental school interview coming up and I am not quite sure how to prepare? Do you have any suggestions? Anyone use any professional services for interview preparation. If so, would you recommend?

I would check the SDN interview feedback. Most students who interview will post information about their experience on that page. You can find it here (http://studentdoctor.net/schools/?view=dental). Just try to remain calm and be genuine. I personally looked at the questions I found in the interview feedback and tried to think about how I would answer it. I also recommend having a few stories on hand, in case they can be used-- for example, a moral dilemma of some sort is always a good one to have. I would also research the school to know what types of questions you can ask them. Good luck.

Don't overprepare - know why you want to be in dentistry but for God's sake do not prepare memorized canned answers to everything. Just answer questions honestly and thoroughly. Be sure to talk to students and get the feel of the school - you will spend most of your waking life in that place should you attend, and your classmates will become closer to you than your family/spouse (if applicable).

-Check out SDN interview feedback
-Research the school in every way on their website
-Have at least 7-10 questions ready to show interest.
-Rehearse answers with a friend or another pre-dent, but don't be too scripted. Write down a few ways you can take something so you don't sound wooden. Try using bullet points instead of writing a speech.
-Read up on the rules of how to dress, how to shake hands, how to button your suit, etc.
-Make up an attache of things you need to bring. Maybe some of your question answers, a resume, and any papers the school wants you to bring.
-Relax beforehand!! Don't stay up until 3am the night before to prepare. Just take it easy and be confident.
