Anyone have tips for getting feedback from schools you applied to but didn't get an interview?

Out of the 15 or so I've tried at, only two or so have said that they can even offer advice. The rest all give some generic message about not being able to.

So, any tips?

how have you tried? called or email?

the first time i applied, i called the schools i was particularly interested in and set up a phone appointment with the dean of admissions. this was very helpful for me. some schools (like my state school) give out information on your weaker points via email.

i would call the admissions offices of the schools you are most interested in and ask if you could speak with the dean of admissions. just straight up like that. and if not, set up an appt to speak with the dean to discuss your file and how you could improve your application for the next round. the deans i have spoke with are very receptive to helping students.

Contact the dean personally if you can. Really it depends on the school you applied to. I got feedback from Vanderbilt, Texas Tech, and UT-Houston.
