I don’t start med school till next aug (still deciding between Western and AZCOM) and instead of kicking back and enjoying my last months of freedom I'm addicted to reading sdn forums on clinical rotations, residency matches, md vs do debates, reputations, research, blah blah blah!!! I'm freaking out!!

Damn you SDN!

anyone else checking sdn every 15 min to see if TexasTriathlete posted something?

I know what you mean, are you from ASU?

I love to see what TexasTri writes. He cracks me up...even if he is from Texas 🙄

Hey now, everything GOOD comes from Texas, haven't you heard? 😉

I, too find myself searching out for TexasTri-responses....he's like SDN-celebrity to me!😀

and TexasTriathlete, now that ive made you famous, you owe me something.

😀

Woah, lets not get hasty. He was famous at least since the app season started.

i don't not check sdn often at work when i'm supposed to be "productive" or "efficient". biotech industry ftl, 👎, btw.

I think I've spent more time on here in the past few months (since June) that I had collectively to that point since I became a member in 2003... so, the answer to your question is yes. 😀

It's easy to get sucked in -- the freak-out level on SDN is high (and I'm the first to admit that I'm only part of the "problem" LOL). 😳

And, yes, TT def. does make things more entertaining... 👍

None of you are addicted. I, however, most likely have some issues, seeing as I have over 3,300 posts.

I agree, TexasTri has gained quite a bit of notoriety lately... Anyways I think that reading up on what you are getting yourself into is a great thing. I am amazed at how ignorant some premeds are about the proccess. By researching the requirments, things you have to do, and what to expect, you are a step ahead of some people who won't have any clue. I think this is why a lot of people believe that SDNers have a higher acceptance rate for just about everything.👍 But I wouldn't freak out and get obsessed. Get out and do stuff that you aren't going to be able to do in the next 4+ years.

damn- you do have a lot of posts (in a short time as well). ha

I used to tease my wife for always being on blog sites (mostly regarding parenting/family issues). Now I can see why it is so addicting. I do think that SDN is a good thing though. I agree with Tanner about researching to understand what your future could hold for you---->understanding future expectations.
On a side note; since joining SDN very recently I, unfortunately, have not been able to find some of the time I had used to study previously. Just like everything in life it is good and bad.

I feel the same way...Although I have really learned a lot....
