Hi all, Im pretty much just starting out, havent even started taking the science classes yet. My question is, is it better to go for an Associate of Science degree, or just do the prereqs needed to apply to schools?

On the one hand, I think it would be best to get the Associate of Science, but, if I don't, I can possibly apply sooner. I am just not sure what to do.

You need to establish which year you want to apply. Once you establish a period, slant your course selection toward the prereqs so that most are completed by the time schools look at your application. You can fill in associate courses when needed.

Two things can happen. If you get accepted, then your desired associate degree and its non-prereq courses become a moot point. If you get rejected, then you just keep on going. You need to have the mentality that you are going to get accepted right away when designing a schedule unless you are an upperclassman who needs time to rectify GPA issues.

Thank you so much. I am doing exactly that. Thank you for helping 🙂 sometimes I just have to hear that Im going the right track 🙂
