I know there are a tons of posts as to when someone should apply to D school however I just wanted to get some feedback to my own situation. By May I should have a 3.4ish cgpa and 3.5 or 3.6 sgpa. This being said I will still have to take Physics II and my upper div Bio work (will be able to finish by spring of '10). I was planning to take the DAT in april but I am trying to knock my degree out as fast as I can so I am taking 18 credit hours next semester. I wanted to know if I should apply in May and then wait to take my DAT till after summer. My upward trend rocks- I will have solid LORs and tons of EC's. I would study all December but I have to go up north and take care of personal matters. Thanks for helping me plan my life.

School ends mid-may, take the DAT at the end of June.

I had a massive credit load before my DAT along with research and teaching. You'll do well if you can handle it with good grades.

I am taking summer classes too. I live an hour and a half away from my school. 3 hours a day- four days a week in driving alone on top of homework. I should really try and see when my summer semester starts.

You should not take the DAT later than the end of June. Again, no later than the end of June! I personally know people who disobey this rule and wait til the end of summer to take it, do poor, and then have to wait 3 months to retake.. blah blah blah, it is late November when they can retake and guess what.. it's too late in the cycle.
My advice, take it by the end of June.

It all depends on your dedication and how much you're willing to work. I worked in a research lab this summer for 40hr/wk and managed to study 4-5 If you don't take it in the summer (before July), rushing through your degree will serves no immediate reason (unless financial) and might have caused a slightly lower GPA with the class load.

It's all stratigic time management.

If you want to apply now, I recommend writing your personal statement. A little at a time is a lot easier than cramming one in. Well, I'm a slow writer.
