where is the most common site of GI infarction? is it hepatic flexure, transverse colon, or splenic flexure? I have written down in myfirst aid (dont know where i got it from) that its in the left 1/2 of the transverse colon... so does that make it the transverse colon or the splenic flexure?

thanks

You didnt happen to take your test on Sat 6/19, 😎 did ya?

i hope for the sake of my step1 grade that it is the splenic flexure. At least I remember this being described as one of the "watershed" areas.

I think the splenic flexure and also the rectosigmoid junction (i.e. the two watershed areas of the large colon)

i believe its the splenic flexure

i would remember this, i took the test today....hint hint

This confuses me. Shouldnt the watershed area be where the SMA and IMA territories meet (ie 2/3 of the way down the transverse colon)? How could the transverse colon be a wrong answer?

hey Sundevil, not to correct your own signature... but isn't it "College" of Medicine down in Arizona?
