Gift Ideas for MCAT takers

Hey people, I have some friends taking the August MCAT and I want to know what would be a great care package for them to receive the day of...what did you want to do/get/hear the morning of the test and the minute you got done with it? One of my advisees gave me a box of sharpened pencils, a coke (for the mid-test caffeine), a burned cd with songs she likes to listen to while studying, an energy bar, and a few other such sundries the night before the test. it was absolutely awesome.

When I took the MCAT in April, this girl I was training in the lab gave me a litte bag of candy and vitamin C tablets. It was really cute.

I'd probably include a granola or energy bar, some gum, a bottled smoothie or energy drink, a couple of pencils, and a nice little good luck card. A mix CD might be nice too. When I had to stand in line in a hallway of super-nervous pre-meds the morning of the test, only my John Legend CD helped me to tune them out and stay calm. 👍

I wanted a medium Dunkin Donuts coffee and a toasted whole grain bagel with cream cheese. I would have also appreciated a good luck kiss and hug from my girlfriend, but no dice cause she was in another country

an energy drink, energy bar, a bottle of extra strength tylenol, a plastic urinal to avoid the lines at break time or if you can't wait until breaktime 😛 , some words of advice and inspiration, some jokes, and an invitation to a bar for after the MCAT

haha yeah I gave that to my friend as a birthday gift 😀 she will really hate me for it 😛

Oh yeah, a sleeping pill the night before is probably the best gift that I wish that I had given to myself. I was up until 4 AM 😱 , for some reason my MCAT turned out better than I thought it would, maybe 4 AM wasn't that bad 😀

As per gift ideas.....I like Psycho Doc's response the best.

I never got a gift, but when I took it the first time, last August, our MCAT instructor took us all out for drinks, though I went for drinks with some other people instead.

Actually, I don't think they would need to get it as a present, cuz SDN peepz know they can always get it free off of me and others around here. 😛

Its the other things that matter more, like food for the test day, pencils, etc.

I was thinking about surprising my girlfriend at the MCAT (as soon as its over) in spandex everything and then ask her where the weightroom is while flexing! I figure she will be so blown away that she forgets the MCAT all together.

Kaplan centers, here in Tampa, come out to the test center at USF and pass out pencils to everyone, as well as an energy bar.

In the afternoon time, at lunch, they provide subs and this year they had a masseuse (massage person--- sorry for the misspelling)

Princeton, had lunch provided too. But sans the masseuse and sans any fruit or healthy side stuff.

Either way, both are cool for coming out and supporting us though.
