Please give me some feedbacks (positive/negative) before i attempt to buy it very soon to prepare for June 19th PCAT! It costs a whole load of money! yikez

If you sift through the numerous threads on the board, you'll find tons of feedback about Dr. Collins' review materials. Some people, like myself, think that his materials helped them tremendously on the exam. (I scored above the 90th percentile in Verbal, Biology, Chemistry and Quantitative and above the 80th percentile in Reading Comprehension.) Other people do not have such a strong opinion.

(Positive)

It's still worth the buy. A lot of other PCAT prep stuff, you may spend less but you read a whole lot of bs that is not needed. Dr. Collins gets straight to the point and as long as you study the material properly and look up answers you don't get you should be fine. I stronly recommend this especially if your worried about Chemistry/Quantative/Verbal. These 3 sections showed the biggest improvement for me when i wrote it the 2nd time. It's basically a review but it teaches you the type of questions that will appear on the PCAT and how to time yourself properly cuz when i wrote the PCAT the first time, my main problem was finishing the sections on time as opposed to 'not knowing' the questions.

I think you should buy it without even the blink of an eye 😉. I took the pcat this january and I got a 27 composite which is really bad. I studied from old lecture notes and I did not buy any reference books at all, I also studied for less than a month. That means I went CHEAP because I underestimate the test. My advice?

Buy any study aids that can help you score higher. And study like your life depend on it 😀. (This time I will study like no tomorrow at least for a month for june pcat, and 3 months for the august one).

I live in south florida and yesterday I paid 515 dollars for the personalized course. And I WILL BUY for sure kaplan and other study aids.

I know is expensive, but imagine yourself that you are already a pharmacy student and it is part of your tuition...which means is nothing.

Good luck.

Honestly, if you want to get a good score with minimal effort get Dr. Collins.

That being said, I can't believe Dr. Collins is not being investigated by Pearson for plagiarizing numerous questions. I actually feel cheap that I knew roughly 5-6 questions from the verbal section WORD FOR WORD from Dr. Collins.

GET IT RIGHT NOW!!

I studied for about a month and my score increased by almost 50 points!!
His verbal section was especially helpful!! There were several similar questions on the actual test.

ya i was thinking whether i should get the Dr. Collins study guide as well. the first time i took the PCAT got a 27% score and hte second, 62%. everyone is saying how Dr. Collins helped them improve their mark so I'm really hoping it'll help increase mine!

are you guys talking about the self-study course? i've taken the pcat twice and still not happy with my score, actually was thinking of enrolling myself in the kaplan course, which cost a ton of money... is this a better alternative in cost and effectiveness ?please give me some advice 🙂 thanks guys

hey gigi1234, i took the kaplan course. and honestly, they prep you pretty well for the science part (math, bio, chem) i got 78, 80 and 91 percentiles respectively but the verbal and reading comprehension were definately not worth it. (14 and 26) so if you think your science is weak and u need some help with that, thn i think kaplan is good ONLY if your willing to do EVERYTHING they ask you to. (this includes reading 6 or 7 chapters in 2 days to prepare for the next class) but if you need help with english , like me, then don't bother going to kaplan.

i'm waiting for my Dr. Collins. i heard from lots of people in this forum that Dr. Collins has the best study guide for verbal ability. I really hope its true! 🙂

I don't know when it'll arrive I ordered it last weeek and I'm really anxious for it to arrive so I can start looking thru it and deciding on a way to study verbal and RC. good luck to you!

Can someone tell me what is up with this "registration form"? Do I actually have to snail-mail this to get my order shipped? It seems so archaic.

So I pay with my credit card online then mail him the form, and the package ships when he confirms I've signed the sheet?
