So I have seen various posts, about applicants who have a DO acceptance wanting to give it up to apply to MD programs. So far most responses state that doing so is a terrible idea. So I am wondering if this "black-listing" that occurs when you give up an acceptance is included for podiatry schools.

I have an acceptance for podiatry school. Recently I got accepted to LECOMs post bacc program. Also I retook the MCAT and received a score of 515 (which I was not expecting at all). So now I am really heavily considering applying to DO schools and possibly MD schools also.

My question is how would it look if I gave up my podiatry acceptance to attend the post bacc program instead Would I be able to apply to DPM programs again in case medical school does not work out for whatever reason? I heard many good things about LECOMs program and I think that I may have a good chance succeeding. Just want to consider my options.

What's your GPA?

Come to podiatry forum for this discussion.

With that MCAT, I dont think you will be blacklisted at pod scholls if you apply second time in the future.
