I recently visited family in Great Britain, and had the opportunity to tour the vet schools at both Edinburgh and Glasgow. At both schools the faculty and staff were incredibly willing to show both me and my granny around. Both had very impressive, modern facilities (in particular, Edinburgh has a brand new small animal hospital), and are both on very lovely campuses. Scotland is an incredibly friendly place; during my taxi ride out to the Glasgow campus (I did have some diffuclty navigating the buses, but I think that was stupid tourist syndrome) the driver chatted my ear off telling me that I would fall in love with Glasgow instantly and never leave! Both seemed to have a very helpful attitutde and put a lot of energy into helping their students. Furthermore, both have vibrant main campuses and pub areas, the students seem to manage to also have a good time while in school.
If you're seriously considering going to school in Scotland, I definitely had an excellent imression of both schools. Please feel free to send me a message with any further questions (though, obviously, Cindy Fulton has much more valuable things to say about Glasgow!!!).
