What is the rationale of using carbachol only for open angle glaucoma?
 
It increases trabecular meshwork outflow. Closed-angled means that the trabecular meshwork is blocked, so opening it up more won't matter. Like if I put my hand over my eye, opening my eye won't help me see better. But first aid says that pilocarpine can be used as a part of angle closure because it is so effective at opening up the meshwork
