What are folks doing with routine drips these days with regard to D5W diluent for vasoactive drips, in the context of strict sugar control, particularly with hearts? NS? .45? No change? Why?

They are talking about fluids used to dilute certain medications where the pharmacy uses D5W by default based on manufacturers recommendations.
You don't mix your infusions using LR do you??

All our vasoactive drips are mixed in D5W and as others have stated, insulin gtt is used for glycemic control

99% of patients get an insulin drip. So, we just turn up the insulin.

So, what if the need for insulin becomes secondary to the D5 based vasoactive drips?
