What's the rate limiting step for this pathway?

this sounds like a pretty vague question...
I would guess you need to know more information, such as the concentrations of particular reactants and enzymes, and if there is a presence of inhibitory molecules that act on the enzymes.
There are quite a few ways to make glucose (gluconeogenesis). Not to mention other factors such as current [blood-glucose] which would determine how readily your pancreas would ....
you know what, this question is just too complicated for me!
maybe im reading too much into it...if anyone has a concise answer, feel free to respond.

UNLESS OF COURSE this is a homework question 😡

THe formation of glycogen (glycogenesis) is separate from the formation of glucose(gluconeogenesis). They are different pathways with different enzymes, etc. etc. Altho of course glucose molecules are involved in the formation of glycogen.

To answer the OPs questions concisely, the rate limiting enzyme for glycogenesis is glycogen synthase.

On another note, I'm glad you enjoyed your interview at Western Matt!!! Seems like a great place to go to school! I hope you get that acceptance in a few weeks 🙂
