So if you could just please give me your honest opinion via this poll then I would be superlatively grateful. Use my predents link to check out my stats and what not before you cast your vote please. whats wrong with a "my chances" thread? Every person is different, stressed out, and wants relief with answers or whatever help they can get. Your stats look really good, do you think its your QR? I voted you'll get in somewhere 👍😀

My guess is yes when it comes to the QR and also with my RC. Had I just stuck with my trim and skim method I'm sure I would have pulled off at least an 18 on the RC which is what I got the first time through. The adcoms at all of the schools that I interviewed at told me themselves that "nobody really looks at the QR with a lot of weight" or something along those lines. I think that, while it is great that they say that, when it really comes down to it, they probably do look at it with more weight then one might think when you consider that adcoms are likely looking for as many positive stats as possible to help their school's national image and academic status. Thanks for taking interest in my poll though. I really appreciate it!

Are you on 5 waitlists? I'm sure you'll get in somewhere! Your stats are good, you have a 4.0 post-bacc, and from what I've read in other threads BYU students are known are being very well prepared for dental school. Just hang in there.

I think last year Shamrock was on 5 waitlists and ultimately got into 2 school in the spring.

My bad, I mean't to click the "you'll get in somewhere" thing. My hands must be shakey.... oh ****...

WTF - you should get in easy. Is it the 14 on the QR that hold you back? The 17 RC? Your other stats look just fine! Best wishes!

I remember reading that NYU's application deadline is in the mid-spring, and they review applications/offer interviews pretty late into the application year. Heck, go for it.

For reals. Have you contacted schools to see what's up?

Sit tight dude. It's way too early in the cycle to start freaking out. Your stats are fine. You will gain acceptance somewhere.

I think your stats are good, im just worried about that 14 on the QR....from what ive seen most schools have a cut off right?! I could be wrong, and im sure thats not for all schools.

OP, why didn't you apply to NYU?

OP, why didn't you apply to NYU?

I really don't know, I guess I just figured that since I wasn't from New York then they wouldn't consider me. That, and I guess I didn't really know that much about NYU enough to persuade me to apply there. Coulda-shoulda-woulda I suppose.

I've called all of my schools and they have all affectively told me to wait until their school's second rounds which begin in mid-January or early February.

Thanks for all of your participation guys/gals. I would really appreciate it if the people who felt that I would get in "NOwhere" would please just tell me why they think so. I'm interested in matters that I may, at the present time, be oblivious to which are impeding me from matriculation. Thanks🙂

You will get in somewhere man. Don't stress too much
You have stats much better then alot of ppl who have gottem into d school.
but i agree you should have applied to NYU or Boston.

Interesting....

dude, its way too early to be this stressed out....just because you didn't get first dibs doesn't mean there isn't hope

I just get so anxious and seeing all you guys get in really depolarizes my jealousy nerves to the point that I want to be a part of your guyzes "In-group." I really do envy all of you guys that got in and I just hope that I'll be able to party with all of you soon. For now, I just got to try and be more patient.🙄

dental experience?

your GPAs are fine, DATs average to below average.

If you have tons of experience and a killer PS, you'll fine. If you dont, go become a dental assistant during the day and study for DAT at night. Retake in February and supplement your application.

Honestly, I think you will get in somewhere. Your stats are pretty good imo, I would just wait it out (it sounds easy I know... sorry lol). People with multiple acceptance will turn some down which open up more spots. Who knows, if I get into Houston, familial circumstances might force me to turn down my Baylor spot which could open it up for others. Although Baylor looks awesome!
