CSX split 3-1 today! Beyond the basic, I thought that the stock price similarly was cut 1/3, but it wasn't! As such, my investment has tripled! I finally have a capital gain!

I own stock in Norfolk Southern, CSX, and Union Pacific. Now, what you may or may not know is that the Norfolk Southern is the successor to the Pennsylvania Railroad, and the B&O was acquired by C&O (Chesapeake & Ohio - the "Chessie System), and later, after a merger, became CSX Corp.

So, I'll keep my railroads - more filthy lucre for me!

Know what tripled for me today? My headache...thinking about the 300K beans I still owe Uncle Sam. I'm 36 and still 2 years left, will be well in 40s before I can even begin to invest. Depressing...
