So after lurking on this thread for 2 months surrounding my Step 3 process, I finally got my scores. A few thoughts.
1) Scores do come out on 12:01 midnight Tues night/Weds am on the 3rd week following my exam, Im 3 for 3 like clockwork. I would encourage you to stay up or set an alarm if you are neurotic like me.
2) So I was thinking through-out this entire process " Im not trying to kill this thing", "Just keep it in the 200's to save face", I was dead on average for the first 2 steps and by no means a good test taker.
3) Left the first day feeling pretty good, but thought I failed for sure after the second day when I was pretty sure that I had killed 1 or 2 of my css patients, and made some other huge mistakes. Not kidding.
4) Results... Less than average (grey bar with xxxxxxxx) on many categories, above average (grey bar with xxxxxxxxxx) in CSS. Final score 200 ;-).
My exact original "gut score". Go figure. BTW I also predicted my Step 1 and 2 scores on the dot by "gut scores" as well.
So glad to be done with this. Going into Anesthesia and looking forward to actively forgeting any and all outpatient medicine and the like. Even though I need to wake up in <4 hrs to start another long day. The rest of my Intern year will be much more bearable ;-).
