Traveling to the US to take Step 3.. anyone with experience?

I'm an IMG thinking about taking Step 3 in a few months.
I have to travel to the US since I'm out of the States at the moment.
Anyone with experience? Willing to give me any travel/scheduling tips or advice?

I already have a visitor visa so that's no issue.

I don't want to be jet-lagged, obviously, so I might travel a week early..
Stay at Airbnb the whole time, taking 2nd day exam 3-4 days later.

This is my plan, but I wanted to hear about someone else's experience!
Anyone, please?
