I graduated with a BS in Economics in the Fall of 2009. I withdrew from classes for 3 semesters during my undergrad because I was the primary caregiver for my grandfather. After graduation, my grandfather's death, pursuing opportunities that no longer interested me, I took time off to clear my head and see if medicine is for me, shadowing, volunteering, medical/research related work. I finally got back into the swing of things this past summer 2011 and started taking general chemistry and general physics. I took both semesters for each. I did really well and made good grades. This fall I planned on continuing my studies, but life hit....I met the woman I love and asked her to marry me and got engaged. I also spent this time continuing to volunteer and working, but withdrew from classes.
Now that I am getting married and I feel like I am rejuvenated, I want to tackle pre-med with full force by taking the rest of the pre-reqs in Spring 2012, Summer 2012, Fall 2012, and Spring 2013 so I can apply summer 2013.
How will adcoms view all of these withdrawals? They were never on the basis of poor academic performance. If I continue to put forth solid coursework (majority A's) for Spring 2012-Spring 2013, do you think they will look back at my circumstances (caring for grandfather + clearing head/getting engaged/living life) and frown upon my W's?
