So i usually don't make an account to post on here because usually i can just read what my question is on here, but im in a weird situation.

So im going to be attending UC Davis this fall. But my problem is that I'm not getting enough money to be able to go to the university. Currently im short for paying my education, then i obviously have to pay for my books, pay for toothpaste, bed covers, shampoo, pencils.. All this money i don't have. Oh ya, and a plane ticket for everytime that i want to go to school and or come back.

So now im thinking this is my option. I will go to UC Davis for fall and after the quarter ends i will come back to my hometown, LA, and go to community college. I'll finish community college( and ill basically have to start from scratch, since CC is on a semester sys and UC Davis was on a quarter sys, and transfer to a UC. This plan will save me a lot more money; thousands. E

Now im wondering, how will this look in the eyes of a dental admission committee. Because im not going to be able to explain to them on the application what my reason was for going from a University to a community college. And i hear that is the worst thing you can do because it shows that you couldn't handle the load. And im just really lost right now. Especially because i don't think i'd go to davis again because of how far it is and how i have to catch a plane each time. So i'd prolly go to UC irvine, or riverside. And now the problem is that i went from a UC to a community college, to a UC ranked lower than what i originally went to.

Do what you have to do. CC won't break or make you application. Good DAT scores + GPA = interview.

True that.

I went to a CC and transferred to UCB. Maintained my GPA and got a decent score on my DAT (to prove that the pre-reqs I took at CC didn't fail me and that going to a CC were one of the greatest decision I made in regards to my education). Here I am getting some interviews from the schools I applied to. Just don't give up. Be determined to do well in classes and on the DAT + ECs, then you'll reach your goal.

I already have taken out loans, and i'm not getting offered anymore. indigenoustw, the thing is you transferred to a big name school, my biggest problem is what if i transfer to a school lower than my first university. Specifically i think it might be uc r.

uh...well, if you want to take it that way, I guess you can. However, my point was not about how I had no problem maintaining my GPA in a so called big name school, but about how there's no difference in where you go for school. As long as you make your education worth and looked good on the surface, nobody can have a say in your academic pursuit and your dedication in YOUR education. Education is what you make out of it, not where the education is offered. I hope you get my point. You know, if you want it really bad, you have to work for it.

Almost exactly the same story but I took the science pre-reqs after transfer.

So can you guys help me, im really confused on how this would work.

So i plan on going to university for 1 quarter now. Then come back to community college and start from scratch like the university never happened.

So my classes look like this.

University:
Quarter 1
Chem
Calc

Community college:
Semester 2
Calc 1
Econ 1
Physiology 1
English 1

Semester 1
Calc 2
Econ 2
Physiology 2
English 2

Sem 2
What classes would i do here... i don't know if i should take chem here, or wait until im in a university. So in relation to dental school, when should i start taking chem and bio. I dont know if i should start with chem and bio in community college, or if i should wait until university.

Because if i wait until university, then ill be taking chem and bio in my 3rd year. And o chem in my 4rth year. So it seems i won't be able to apply for dental school until after i graduate...

And another problem would be that there is going to be a 2.5 month summer break between semester 2 and semester 1 of community college, and since im starting a semester late, it's like in my full year, there will be a 2.5 month of break in which ill forget everything...
