Did very well on the shelf...but you cannot score higher than your clinical grade here. The vast majority of my evals wee from interns (fam med and IM) who I barely worked with....so it seemed very subjective.

I feel pretty screwed now guys...
It was my dream to go to a good IM program (top 50) so I could have a shot at fellowship.

I have step 1's in the 240s....step 2 pending
Go to a top 10 med school...


Now I will get auto screened for interviews according to people I've talked to on here....

Are you for real? You go to a top 10 medical school with an excellent step 1 score and you're afraid your freaking pass in IM is going to blacklist you from good IM programs??

Well..I was told getting "Pass" is a screen they use (similar to step 1 score) at a lot of places.

It's just a shame if that's true. I 100% agree with you my friend- it SHOULD be trolling that I even think that. A sad place we live in sometimes, eh?

I am no genius and did not exactly expect to go to MGH or anything, but I just hope it doesn't "Screen" me out from programs such as Wake Forest, Duke, Vandy, UTSW....

I am sure you will do okay coming from a top 10 program. But I understand your concern. I am coming from a much lower ranked program that many schools will be less than familiar with and I too got a >240 + pass in IM. I have been told by program directors to cross top programs out of my list, but applying broadly, I should be able to match into a solid university program with a solid subspecialty match list. Its best to just put it behind you and move forward with life. Don't let what you can't change bother you.
