Hey guys,

I'm studying for Chem and Ochem in the destroyer and as its well known both these sections are packed with info. My question to everyone is I've been going over these questions and answering them and if i got them wrong i would go over them, but as i answer the questions again i'm just basically memorizing answers, i find. I slow down to make sure i get the concept, but i just can't seem to get around the fact that i memorize the answer, and find that i can't apply what i learned to a different problem. I had my friend ask me questions just tweaked a bit from destroyer and i couldn't answer them, but if you asked me the concept i'd be able to do it no problem. any help is greatly appreciated.

That sentence right there is a bit paradoxical. If you truly understand the concept, you should be able to handle questions on it in any form. So I think your problem right now is relying on memorization and not truly understanding the foundation.
