Have any of you considered going to visit a dental school? Like the way you toured your undergraduate school?

I'm a sophomore, but may take the DAT this summer and apply a year early. I wanted to visit both Iowa and Creighton over my Christmas break. Is this weird? I know they give tours when you go for your interview, but I feel like I'd want to know the school before I apply to it.

I did this. I visited four schools and connected with the admissions officers. I scored two interviews from two of the schools and anticipate getting two more. Important thing is to maintain a dialog after your visit through your app cycle.

And you feel the visit is the reason you "scored two interviews" and it absolutely is not related to your stats?

Well, stats played a large part but it didn't hurt to make the connection. I can say I'm a late applicant and got an expedited review to score the two pre-Dec interviews which should have been post-Dec if not for the visit.
