Goljan vs. BRS PATH
Started by teddy12
Cant say BRS path in one word so might as well give u the whole spill 😀 :teddy12 said:Goljan vs. BRS PATH?
one word please...
thanks
You can hit both up. BRS path has everything you need to know id put some effort into getting through it then listen to Goljan when u get bored or need to fall asleep fast 😉 !
Im not hating on Goljan...in fact ....I've gone through his audio twice and still enjoy listening to em- on the road and gym. I suggest getting a solid base from BRS then let Goljan do the INTEGRATION for you. I read BRS (For our path course) and listened to his audio throughout the semseter and there are somethings he talks about that no matter how many times I read brs or robbins....it just didnt click up there. He simplifies many difficult concepts in BRS.
My Point: Its not wise to rely 'solely' on Goljan....he's still the man tho!
peace

BRS
Goljan STARS pathology
Are we talking RR Goljan, or 500 page Goljan? The latter, combined with BRS, is my strategy right now. It's a quick read, especially if you've listened to the lectures.

BRS
Haven't used poppy's material, but it befuddles me when people stray from books considered the 'gold standard' and have an "A" rating in first aid.
If you have time, try to do both. BRS for rote memorization and Goljan for integration + understanding. If you don't have time for both, I'd stick with the proven winner.

I listen to Goljan and take notes in BRS Path. His audio lectures are great, and for some reason when it comes out of Goljan's mouth I seem to remember it a LOT better, so I would suggest trying that. I haven't tried out his books though, so I dont know about those. Good luck! 🙂

BRS + Goljian's Audio + robbins review
Goljan Rapid Review + Robbins Review Question Book
I took the NBME Path Shelf using BRS and it was definitely not enough! If the USMLE path questions are going to be similar to those questions, I really think BRS not enough in terms of detail and clinical symptoms accompanying each disease.
