JP,

I'm an MS IV at PCOM going into anesthesiology. If you are seriously considering going into anesthesia then definitely rotate through programs at places where you might want to do a residency. I rotated at Thomas Jefferson and Univ of Pennsylvania. Both were excellent and will be beneficial if you apply to their programs. Canceled Johns Hopkins because of time/travel difficulties. Other great programs to do a rotation at are 1) Hershey/Penn State 2) Mercy Hospital Pittsburgh. Christiana in Delaware has gotten good reviews from what I hear. Other local anesthesia departments to rotate through: Mercy-Fitzgerald, St. Luke's Allentown or Bethlehem, Lehigh Valley Hospital, Drexel/Hahnemann. PM me if you like and I'll give you the scoop on DO's applying into anesthesia, the different programs etc.
